1996年,我從一本美國的貓雜誌的廣告發現了這一個當時的新品種,由於對半野生的血統的品 種感到非常有興趣,於是致電給當時世界上最著名的Bengal貓舍"Gogees"的主人Mrs Gene Johnson Decote, 希望能知道得多些有關Bengal的資料,而我們亦很快便十分友好,她亦答應讓出一對高質的種貓,之後又介 紹了其他的繁殖者給我認識,令我可成功地將Bengal引進香港及繁殖,而此品種直至今天仍然流行及著名。 我之所以將Bengal定名為"玩具豹",全因牠們的外型尤如一隻小型的豹,美國人都稱牠們為"Toy Leopard", 是不是很貼切呢?
In 1996, I found some advertisments of Bengal in a cat magazine of US. So, I phoned to Gene Johnson Decote, very famous breeder in this breed, to collect more informations about Bengal. Luckly, everything went smoothly--I imported some very high quality kittens from her & her friends & also could promote this nice breed to Hong Kong cat fans!
